Realme C11: Quick Review

Increasing smartphone prices encourage some manufacturers to also focus on the affordable device category. Manufacturers such as Samsung, Honor and Realme regularly introduce new options in the entry segment to gain more users. Realme, one of the members of this group, presents its skills in the “budget-friendly phone” category, usually under the C series. C11 is among the most recent members of this series. In this article, we will give you a quick review of the Realme C11.

Realme C11: Quick Review

Design & Display.

It is worth mentioning from the beginning that the Realme C11 is a stylish phone when evaluated within the framework of the price segment. Polycarbonate is used as the main material in the C11, which shows that it is an affordable phone from the very beginning. It has to be said that polycarbonate is cheap in terms of both appearance and feel.

The Realme C11 has a 6.5-inch screen, the details of which will be discussed later. This screen takes up 81.7 percent of the front panel. The top and edge bezels of this screen with a drop notch on the top are quite thin. The bottom bezel is thicker, like other phones in the segment.

There is nothing on the top edge of the phone. At the top of the left edge is the slot where the dual nano-SIM and microSD card trays are placed. On the right side, the power button and volume control keys greet users.

The lower edge of the Realme C11 is quite crowded. Here, from left to right, respectively 3.5 mm. It has a headphone jack, dual microphones, micro-USB jack, and speaker grille. At this point, it is worth mentioning a little bit about the performance of the speaker grille. It can be said that the loudness of the sound coming out of the speaker is reasonable. The quality of the sound is average, in line with the standards of the price segment in which the phone is located.

The back panel of the Realme C11 looks very stylish. When light comes on the dual-tone and textured surface, it is eye-catching. It is necessary to say that the Mint Green color of the C11, which came to our test center, is also very good for the phone.

In the upper left corner of the panel is the square-shaped camera module with dual cameras and LED flash. At the bottom of the strip just below this module, there is the "Realme" logo. The different green tone used in the strip also adds a little more dynamism to the image of the rear panel.

As far as display is concerned, Realme C11 has a 6.5-inch screen, as we mentioned earlier. The aspect ratio of this 1560 x 720-pixel resolution screen is 20: 9. This screen, with a pixel density of 270 PPI, occupies 81.7 percent of the front panel. There is also a notch at the top of the screen, which hosts the 5-megapixel front camera of the phone. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the smartphone's screen.

It can be said that the Realme C11 has a large screen compared to its segment. It should be noted that this screen works very well. The overall brightness of the screen, whose colors do not fade on the edges, is reasonable. The brightness level of this screen can be adjusted automatically. Thus, there is no problem in seeing the screen under sunlight. It is also worth noting that the screen is not reflective.

Although the sharpness level of the Realme C11's screen is not very high, it can be said that it is enjoyable to watch something on this screen. Especially the large screen makes it a little easier to integrate with the content watched. The viewing angles of this screen, which is suitable for multimedia content consumption, are sharp according to its class and generally sufficient.

As with almost all phones, preferences related to the display can be made in the Settings menu in Realme C11. In the "Display and brightness" section here, users can choose their settings according to their preferences.

Dark Mode support is available on the phone. Also referred to in “Dark Mode”, the operation of this feature can be set to a user-specified calendar or from sunset to sunrise. The operation of the blue light filter offered under the name of "eye relief" can be similarly linked to the calendar.

In Realme C11, users can also adjust the color temperature of the screen according to their preferences.

  Operating System and Process.

The phone offers extremely fast and powerful processors. Realme C11 offers a good processor for daily use. The Realme C11 is powered by MediaTek's Helio G35 processor. It should be noted from the outset that the Helio C35, an entry-level processor, is not a performance monster. This processor cannot prevent some delays and lags in the phone from time to time. For example, applications such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube are used frequently every day may need to wait a few seconds even when launching.

Regarding the GPU, Realme C11 has the PowerVR GE8320.

In Geekbench 5, the CPU scored 169 for single-core and 914 for multicores.

The technical staff of Realme C11 does not promise very high performance in the game. This situation is clearly felt during real use. When we tried to play PUBG Mobile on a smartphone, the game took quite a long time to launch and we encountered stuttering during the game. However, it should be said that this is not surprising considering the price and technical features of the smartphone.

According to the operating system, the Realme C11 comes loaded with Android 10,  complementing this operating system is the Realme UI user interface. Although the Realme UI does not far from pure Android in terms of the main user experience, an intense customization is felt in the icon and interface design.

It can be easily said that Realme UI is generally a clean and organized interface. It is worth underlining that the Realme C11, which is very rich in terms of vehicles and applications offered as preload, is not an excess in this respect. In short, no application can be described as "unnecessary" on the phone. Still, those who are annoyed with these apps have the option to uninstall them.

Google applications available on almost every Android phone are also available on Realme. Applications such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Photos are waiting for users in the Google folder on the home screen.

Some Android manufacturers use Google's application as the default solution instead of developing their own solutions. It can be said that this approach is partially preferred in Realme C11.

For example, Google Chrome is used as the default internet browser on the phone. As an e-mail application, Gmail also appears before users. However, Realme's own solutions are offered to users in applications such as photos, messages, and phones.

In Realme C11, many vehicles are also located in the Tools folder on the main screen. There are tools such as Calculator, Weather, Compass, and Recorder. However, some tools are also shown outside of this folder. For example, the Phone Manager application, which functions as a kind of control panel for the Realme C11, can be accessed from the home screen. At this point, it is worth noting that Facebook comes preloaded on the phone.

Through this application, users can optimize the phone with a single touch. Operations such as managing privacy permissions and applications, and controlling components can also be performed here. Component check performed by the tool called Quick Check helps to quickly see if there is a problem in terms of hardware and software on the phone.

Realme C11 also includes tools such as File Manager and Download Manager to assist users. Thanks to these tools, it is easier for users to keep their phones organized. In addition, the Phone Duplicator tool is available to help new upgrades to Realme C11 easily transfer data from their old phones.

One of the vehicles offered in the Reame C11 is the Playground. Users can see all the games they have installed on their phones through the playground. The selection of the performance mode to be active during the games can also be made through the Game Area. Settings for rejection or blocking of incoming calls and notifications while playing games are also made through this menu.

Hand gestures or other gestures also help to interact with the phone in Realme C11. For example, when the screen is off, the camera can be started by drawing the letter O on it. Or, a quick screenshot can be taken when three fingers slide down the screen. In addition, the smartphone can be set to activate the Google Assistant when the power button is pressed for 0.5 seconds.

 Security and Ports.

On the security side, Realme C11 does not have a fingerprint scanner. Only a face recognition feature is offered as a biometric verification solution on the phone.  When this feature detects the user's face, it unlocks the screen in a reasonable amount of time. However, even when the environment is a bit dim, face recognition can be troubled. The phone also supports classical unlocking methods such as pattern and passcode.

As for ports, the device supports Bluetooth 5 and NFC. It supports VoLTE and WiFi Calling. It also has support for a 3.5mm headphone jack like the Realme 6 Pro.

 Battery and charging.

Realme C11 provides a powerful Li-Po 5000mAh battery. It has the same battery capacity as the Samsung's beast, the S20 Ultra, and Realme 6 Pro. And the phone offers fast charging.

Realme states that this capacity will be enough to keep the phone on for 2 days.

The picture that emerges as a result of real use also matches Realme's promises. Since the main equipment of the C11 is not very powerful, it should not be surprising. In a scenario where actions like messaging, browsing social networks, and watching a few videos on YouTube, the battery of the Realme C11 does not need a charge for about 1.5 days.

There is no problem with the battery performance of the phone when it comes to gaming and more intense media content consumption. Watching content on Netflix or YouTube for 1 hour causes a 5% loss in battery life. It should be noted that the average 7-8 hours of screen time of the phone is also very good.

Realme C11's 5000 mAh battery is filled via the micro USB port. Although it is sad to encounter micro USB in the period when USB-C was widespread, it is worth noting that this is natural for the price category the C11 is in. The 10W charger included in the box of the smartphone charges the C11's battery in about 3 hours.

Camera.

Realme C11 has dual rear cameras, 13MP ( wide with f\2.2), and 2MP ( depth with f\2.4). On the front, you see a 5MP camera with f\2.4.

This main module is however not bad by day, allowing to observe details - albeit limited - in the center and at the edge of the image. In this, the quality of the shots is fairly homogeneous.

At night, this is another matter since there is excessive smoothing, an obvious underexposure, and it will be very difficult to obtain usable images without a source brighter than our 3 lux spots.

The front sensor of this mobile does not allow us to obtain particularly exciting selfies, the fault of a very poor dynamic.

The portrait mode offers a rather rough cut of the subjects.

As for the Full HD video mode, it has difficulties in terms of focus, stability, and dynamics.

Conclusion.

Rising smartphone prices have further increased the appeal of entry-segment phones for average users. Realme also pays special attention to the entry segment in order to take advantage of this opportunity. Realme C11, one of the fruits of this approach, manages to attract attention with its stylish and eye-catching design at first sight.

After that, the other noteworthy aspect of the Realme C11 is its long battery life. The 5000 mAh battery is more than enough for users to enjoy a day. In case of reducing the usage intensity, there is no problem when removing it for two days.

Once again, it's necessary to reiterate that the Realme C11 is not a performance monster. However, considering the technical equipment and price of the phone, this is not surprising. The low charging speed of the high-capacity battery is a little annoying.

Apart from its long battery life, Realme C11 deserves applause with its clean software and successful screen according to its class. The smartphone's 6.5-inch screen works well for multimedia content consumption. Realme C11 is among the remarkable options with its long battery life and big screen for those who like to watch things with their phone and do standard works. What do you think?
