Oppo Reno 4 Lite: Quick Review

Oppo is one of the most active players in the smartphone market recently. The company, which regularly expands its portfolio with new devices, offers mid-segment devices approaching the upper segment and the upper segment, especially in the Reno series. After the Reno 3 series, the company did not make much of the gap, revealing the members of the Reno 4 series. Being the most modest member of this series, Reno 4 Lite draws a device profile that cannot be described as "modest" when evaluated within the framework of the general dynamics of the smartphone market. In this article, we will give you a quick review regarding the Reno 4 Lite.

Oppo Reno 4 Lite: Quick Review

Design & Display.

7.48 mm. Thick Reno 4 Lite manages to impress those who see it by drawing a very stylish device profile at first glance. The phone weighing 164 grams creates a very comfortable feeling in the hand. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 combines an aluminum frame with a glass-covered front panel and a plastic back panel. We can easily say that the Metallic White back panel of the phone with rounded corners looks stylish.

The Oppo Reno 4 Lite has a 6.43-inch screen, the technical details of which will be discussed later. In the upper left corner of this screen, there is a capsule-shaped camera hole where the dual front camera is placed. The screen takes up 90.67 percent of the front panel. The handset speaker in the upper frame of the screen is quite well hidden. It is noteworthy that the lower frame is thicker compared to other frames.

On the left side of the Reno 4 Lite is the slot where the nano-SIM and microSD card tray is placed and the volume control buttons. On the right side, there is also the power button that can be programmed to wake up the Google Assistant.

There is a second microphone at the top of the phone. On the lower edge, 3.5 mm from left to right respectively. headphone jack, microphone, USB-C jack and speaker grille greet users. At this point, it is worth noting that the sound coming out of the speaker grille is not too strong and high quality.

When you switch to the back panel of the Oppo Reno 4 Lite, of course, the four cameras located in the upper left corner strike the eye. On the right of these four cameras in the square-shaped module, there is a LED flash. It is also worth noting that the size of the flash is compatible with the camera system. On the back panel, the only element other than the camera and flash is the Oppo logo placed on the lower right.

It can be easily said that the Oppo Reno 4 Lite is a very impressive device in terms of its design. Its slim and light case visually positions the Reno 4 Lite close to the upper segment phones.

As far as display is concerned, as we mentioned above, the Reno 4 Lite has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display. Covering 90.67 percent of the front panel, this 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution screen has a pixel density of 409 PPI.

Covering 96 percent of the NTSC color gamut, this screen's normal brightness level is 430 nits. The maximum refresh rate of the screen is 60Hz. This screen, which has a capsule-shaped hole in the upper left corner where the cameras are placed, also hosts the phone's fingerprint scanner. We will talk about the performance of the fingerprint scanner in the following sections.

Although the display's 60Hz refresh rate is not unusual, the Super AMOLED display can be said to be one of the Reno 4 Lite's strongest aspects. The colors on the screen, which has a very high overall quality, look extremely vivid in connection with the content quality. Two people can easily watch something on the screen, whose viewing angles are also more than sufficient.

The standard brightness level of the screen of the Reno 4 Lite, which is 430 nits, is fine. There is no problem with seeing the screen of the phone outside in sunlight. Like many phones, the brightness level of the screen on the Reno 4 Lite can be adjusted automatically according to the light conditions of the environment.

Settings and changes related to the screen of the Oppo Reno 4 Lite can be made through the "Display and brightness" section in the Settings menu. From here, it is possible to activate the different display features of the Reno 4 Lite.

We are familiar with two of these features from many Android phones. The blue light filter, offered under the name Dark Mode and Eye Comfort is activated from here. The operation of both features can be linked to a calendar.

Oppo Reno 4 Lite also has an Always On Display feature. When this feature is activated, it is possible to see the clock on the screen and the icons of the applications to which notifications are sent, if any, even when the screen is in a sleep state. It is worth noting that this is an optional feature. Users can also change the format of the clock they see here if they wish.

Another screen feature in Reno 4 Lite is called "Low brightness flicker-free eye comfort". Visual fatigue caused by screen flickering when operating this mode is reduced at a low screen brightness level. Doing this slightly increases the noise in the picture.

There is also a feature called the OSIE Vision Effect on the screen of Reno 4 Lite. This feature offered by Oppo on its smartphones strengthens the visual experience in supported applications by taking advantage of artificial intelligence. It is worth noting that even though this feature increases the density of battery consumption a little when activated, it does not affect the usage time very negatively.

It can be easily said that the screen of the Reno 4 Lite is more than enough for both watching videos and playing games.
